Workshops
Workshops are offered for HALO
participants only. Workshops are designed to help
prepare participants to become successful employees, students,
and communitiy members.
Workshops consist of group
activities, individual skill building activities, and
presentations by HALO staff and local employers and
agencies.

Available:
HALO
101: Introductory class
explaining the expectations and outcomes of being a HALO
Participant. Program benefits, offerings and services you may
qualify for.
Goal Setting/Skill
Assessment: Set up an individual service plan for your
educational and employment goals. Learn how to create a path
towards achieving these goals. Complete a CASAAS skill
assessment.
Becoming Work Ready:
Learn strategies for
getting and retaining a job. Inside infromation. Learn how to
interact with co-workers and supervisors/bosses
effectively.
Interview Boot Camp:
Learn how to make a
positive and memorable impression. Practice preparing for an
interview and how to answer interview
questions.
Financial Literacy:
Banking basics. Learn how
to identify scams and fraudulent information. Discuss
financial decisions and learn about
budgeting.
Resume/Applications:
Employers see you long
before your interview. Will you make it through the screening?
Complete this workshop and get noticed on
paper.
Career Preparation:
Learn about personality style and
how it relates to employment and education preferences. Learn
about many different career options you may have never even
head of! Research careers and learn what steps to take to work
towards a career that fits you.
Post Secondary
Exploration: Move beyond
your GED/HS Diploma and become even more competitive in the
job market. Learn how to utilize financial aid, apply for
college/trade schools and apply for scholarships. It IS
possible.
Computer
Skills: Email etiquette,
typing skills and other computer savvy fun!
Parenting Classes (Elective):
A guest speaker from Northwest
Family Services will talk about successful strategies for
young parents.
